André

André Campaniço completed his Integrated Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2016, in the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFULisboa). André started to collaborate with the Department of Medicinal Chemistry of iMed.ULisboa in the second year of his degree, participating in projects related with cancer, malaria and tuberculosis. In 2014, André was awarded with the 'Amadeu Dias' Research Grant for young researchers. In his final year, he spent three months at the School of Pharmacy from the University College of London, working with peptidomimetics with antibacterial potential. In 2017, André went back to the Department of Medicinal Chemistry of iMed.ULisboa and started an PhD on the development of new drug leads for tuberculosis, in a collaboration with the University of Cape Town, where he spent two months in 2020. Having finished his PhD, André has now undertaken a Postdoctoral position in the McGouran Group. Apart from his scientific interests, André has a passion for theatre, keeps a podcast in creative writing and enjoys reading and running when he is not doing any of the above.
