Julie graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2023 with a BA in Chemistry . During her undergraduate studies, Julie completed a final year research project with the McGouran group in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute focused on synthesising biologically responsive monomers. Her PhD project focuses on developing biologically responsive microstructures by combining state-of-the-art 3D fabrication and characterisation techniques with stimuli-responsive materials. She is part of the Centre for Doctoral Training in the Advanced Characterisation of Materials and is completing this project under the co-supervision Prof. Nazila Kamaly in Imperial College Dublin, and in collaboration with Prof. Larisa Florea and Prof. Colm Delaney in Trinity College Dublin.
