Fayanne

Fayanne completed her undergraduate degree at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) in Forensic Science. During her studies, she undertook various research internships in medicinal chemistry, focusing on topics such as antimicrobial peptides, steroid dimers, and prolyl oligopeptidase (POP) inhibitors. She is currently working on the design and synthesis of activity-based probes targeting the DNA repair enzyme SNM1A, which plays a key role in maintaining genome integrity by repairing DNA interstrand crosslinks. Thus, studying this enzyme is important for understanding cancer chemotherapy resistance to therapeutic cross-linking agents. Outside of research, Fayanne enjoys playing volleyball under the sun, traveling, and growing plants!
