Sai
Sai completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc in Chemistry from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Puttaparthi India, and continued his research on medicinal chemistry as project assistant. Sai then moved to Japan to pursue his PhD after being awarded the Govt. of Japan, MEXT scholarship at Kyushu Institute of Technology, Fukuoka. Sai worked on synthesizing peptide based squaraine conjugates for probing Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in chronic inflammatory conditions. After graduating in 2024, Sai worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Fukuoka Institute of Technology, Fukuoka, Japan on combatting antibacterial resistance. Sai has now joined the McGouran group as a postdoctoral research fellow to work on ubiquitin-based probes for DUBs. Outside of research, Sai is passionate and actively involved in music, badminton, photography, learning Japanese, hiking, and traveling.
