Tomasz
Tomasz has completed his BA (mod) in Biochemistry at Trinity College Dublin, and a MSc in Biotechnology at University College Dublin.
As an undergraduate student, Tomasz undertook a research internship project at Academia Sinica, Taiwan, where he investigated incorporation of unnantural amino acids into prion proteins, facilitating their structural studies. In his final year Tomasz studied a novel tumoricidal compound (BAMLET) utilizing bioassays and multidimensional NMR spectroscopy.
Following his MSc, Tomasz joined the Proteomics team at Nuritas, a Dublin-based biotech company which utilizes Artificial Intelligence and Peptidomics to discover, produce and test bioactive peptides.
After four years in industry, he joined the McGouran group to embark on a PhD project focusing on constructing novel, protein-based, photo-reactive Activity-Based Probes of Deubiquitinases, and translating these probes into biological systems.
